🌍 Your Birding Journey

Negombo: Arrive in Sri Lanka and transfer to Negombo Lagoon. Evening birding at Muthurajawela Wetlands spotting Cormorants, Purple Heron, and Black Bittern.

Anawilundawa & Wilpattu: Morning birding at Anawilundawa Ramsar Wetland for Openbill Stork, Purple Swamphen, and Garganey. Continue to Wilpattu for overnight stay near the park.

Wilpattu National Park: Full-day safari in Wilpattu National Park searching for Crested Serpent Eagle, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Painted Stork, and possible Leopard sightings.

Sigiriya Sanctuary: Morning climb of Sigiriya Rock Fortress with birding en route. Spot Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill and Black-headed Oriole. Evening bird walk around Kandalama area.

Dambulla & Knuckles Range: Birding around Dambulla cave surroundings before transferring to the Knuckles Mountain Range for montane forest species.

Knuckles Forest Reserve: Full-day trek through forest and tea estates spotting Yellow-fronted Barbet, Layard’s Parakeet, and Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot.

Kandy – Udawatte Kele: Bird walk at Udawatte Kele Forest Sanctuary. Evening optional visit to Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Nuwara Eliya: Transfer to the hill country. Birding at Victoria Park and Gregory Lake for Pied Thrush, Kashmir Flycatcher, and Indian Pitta.

Horton Plains: Early morning trek at Horton Plains National Park. Spot Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush, Sri Lanka Bush Warbler, and Dusky Blue Flycatcher.

Ella & Hakgala: Birding en route to Ella. Visit Hakgala Botanical Gardens for Sri Lanka Wood Pigeon and Hill Swallow.

Yala National Park: Transfer to Yala for evening birding safari. Spot Painted Stork, Lesser Adjutant, and Black-necked Stork.
